Delaware is still currently in phase 2 of the economic reopening which began on June 15th. Phase 2 limits the occupancy of indoor and outdoor gatherings, which is affecting the plans of events and festivals usually held in October. Our calendar is up to date as of our press time in September, and highlights the events that are still scheduled as well as postponements and cancellations. We recommend you call or check the websites of the events before you plan your visit. You can visit coronavirus.delaware.gov/reopen- ing/phase2/ for more information on specific restrictions and updates. Lewes traditionally celebrates their nautical heritage dur- ing the first weekend of the month. The weekend begins with downtown merchants holding their annual sidewalk sales this year beginning on Friday October 2nd and end- ing on Sunday, October 4th. The Boast the Coast Festival usually planned for Saturday has been postponed until next October and Coast Day traditionally held on Sunday is going virtual this year, with the event content available online. The Lewes Historical Society however will hold their annual outdoor craft show on Saturday and Sunday. Enjoy the sidewalk sales and the outdoor shopping at the craft fair this year. Rehoboth Beach will host several events throughout the month of October. Shops in Rehoboth and Dewey will be hosting their 44th fall sidewalk sales also the first weekend of the month on October 2nd thru the 4th. The first annual Outdoor Rummage, Produce and Craft Fair will be held at the parking lot of Jungle Jim’s on October 10th. Jazz enthusiasts will be sure to check out the 8th True Blue Jazz Festival on October 16th-18h and the 30th Autumn Jazz Festival also on the 16th-18th. The largest event of the month, the 31st Sea Witch Festival has been postponed until next October.
